Course Description：

Automatic Control Theory is a specialized course, which aims at developing both the analytical methods and design methods of linear control systems. The analysis of linear control systems includes mathematical models and time-domain analysis, root locus methods and frequency response methods. The design methods for linear control systems involved in the course include phase-lead compensation, phase-lag compensation and lag-lead compensation which belong to frequency-response compensation. In the system analysis of nonlinear control systems, phase plane analysis and describing functions analysis will be introduced.

This course is designed to introduce students to the basic concepts of control systems, the analytical methods and design methods of linear systems, and the analytical methods of nonlinear systems. This course consists of experiments and computer simulation, so as to attain the objective of training the students to have the ability of system analysis and design.
